Lima Real and Cibaque are two materials we use for making superb lamps and pieces of furniture.
Lima Real is a natural fiber that comes from the lianas of certain trees. It is very flexible and resistant. It is very similar to wicker, its thickness though makes it unsuitable for the manufacture of smaller objects.
Cibaque is a marrow obtained from a species of tule. Sometimes the veins of banana leaves are used. Its famous twin is the ‘abaca’, originally from the Philippines. Being very soft and sensitive to humidity, makes its use limited to fabricating decorative objects such as lamps and baskets.
